Background
American Industrial Supply Corporation (AIS)
is a distributor of pipe, valves and
fittings. The company is located in Perth
Amboy, New Jersey, and services the
Northeast region. AIS supplies the following
market segments: chemical, pulp and paper,
petro-chemical, utility, energy,
construction, plumbing, heating,
ventilation, air conditioning, and
pharmaceutical. We can also supply any
company in need of maintenance and repair of
pipe, valves and fittings (MRO). Our overall
revenue base is divided among these markets.
AIS began in 1978 as a pipe, valve and
fitting distributor. AIS, a New Jersey
corporation, is a manufacturers’ distributor
of high quality materials.
Sales and Service
Sales is divided into
outside and inside sales departments. The
outside sales representatives visit customer
sites and discuss our services and products.
The inside sales personnel are responsible
for quoting prices, taking orders, and
expediting deliveries. Customers’
engineering requirements are negotiated with
manufacturers by the inside sales
representatives.
AIS services consist of threading, coating
and grooving pipe. Consignment, inventory
control, and technical assistance are
available upon request. Additionally, we
offer 24-hour a day, 7-day a week emergency
service to all of New Jersey, the New York
Metropolitan Area and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Facilities
The company operates from a
site consisting of a main office, which has
a 19,000-square foot warehouse, and a pipe
yard containing 2 and ½ acres of pipe. The
site also includes two additional structures
consisting of a 12,500-square foot building
and an enclosed pipe storage area of 4,800
square feet.
